Vulnerabilities & patching

Updated 30.10.2026 · 1-minute read

A vulnerability is a flaw in software or settings that attackers can exploit. Patching means installing the fixed version, ideally soon after it is released.

Severity can be assessed with CVSS, but exposure and business impact also matter. Prioritise exploitable internet-facing issues, install vendor fixes, test them and keep a rollback path. Updating a CMS does not update the underlying runtime or server automatically.
